Michelle is owner and speech-language pathologist at Simply Speech, PLLC. She is licensed to practice in the state of Texas and is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She opened Simply Speech to help meet Corpus Christi’s need for high-quality private speech therapy services. Michelle is one of few speech-language pathologists in the country practicing with a post-professional doctorate. Michelle has two sons, and she enjoys laughing with them and watching them grow.
Michelle received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and her Master of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Michelle excelled in academics, graduating Summa Cum Laude and with a solid 4.0 GPA. She makes continuing education a priority in her career to ensure quality, evidence-based service for her clients. In 2015, Michelle was awarded the American Speech and Hearing Association’s Award for Continuing Education (ACE). This honor distinguishes a select group of SLPs who participate in professional continuing education far beyond state and national requirements.
After 10 years of practice, Michelle completed a post-professional Doctor of Clinical Science degree from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in 2019. She is an active consumer of clinical research and has contributed to the field as a clinical researcher herself. With advanced training in research, supervision, and managment, she is uniquely able to use research-based approaches in both therapy and business practices.
During her doctoral studies, Dr. Skrobarczyk conducted original research in Corpus Christi, TX titled “Effect of Functional, Interactive Use of Written Words in the Preschool Population with ASD on Whole-Word Literacy.” This study explored how preschool-aged children with autism could use written words to communicate via augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), offering valuable insight into functional literacy, early language development, and the potential benefits of incorporating written language into early intervention.
In addition to private practice, Michelle has worked as an SLP in a variety of settings and with all ages, including public schools, outpatient hospital, nursing home, home health, and Early Childhood Intervention (ECI).

Denise is enthusiastic about being part of the team at Simply Speech. The medical field has long been of interest to her, and she previously spent eight years as a self-employed medical transcriptionist—an experience she found both professionally rewarding and personally fulfilling. That role allowed her to balance meaningful work while being present as a stay-at-home mom, something she greatly valued.
In 2018, Denise and her family relocated from Louisiana to Corpus Christi, a community they are proud to call home. Over the years, they have built strong friendships that feel like extended family.
Outside of her professional life, Denise enjoys volunteering her time through educational visits and personal Bible studies. She also values time spent with her son and his fiancé, her nieces and nephews, and occasionally traveling on Caribbean cruises with her husband.
